I was 11 years old when my parents remodelled our kitchen in Nebraska. And it truly was the moment my life changed. The oak cabinets… the blue laminate countertops… the gold hardware… Can you picture it?!
It wasn’t just about the way it looked. It was about how it felt. Suddenly, the space worked for us as a family. It was functional. It flowed. Everything had a place and a purpose. And as a result, everyone was happier living in it.
We cooked more, baked more, entertained more, all because of that new kitchen. It was the place we would choose to watch tv, curl our hair, and paint our toes. We grew and connected as a family more than ever before.
It became the heart of the home because it was where we all felt most like ourselves.
The change was so significant it inspired my path to becoming an industry-leading kitchen + bathroom designer who could make other families feel that way, and I went on to study Family and Consumer Science at a university that specialized in Kitchen and Bath Designs.
One dog, two decades, three children, numerous awards, and hundreds of home transformations later, I can confidently say that the graft to get here was absolutely worth it.
My job is my joy, and it shows.
This is the part where I’m supposed to tell you how I feel about my own home. The problem?
I don’t have one.
A few years ago, my family and I decided to sell our house and most of our belongings and travel around the world full time. We’ve stayed in 40+ houses so far, and have no intention of stopping.
This doesn’t make sense to some, but it makes perfect sense to me. Some learn and grow through books, I learn and grow through travel. Experiencing different cultures, cuisines, and climates allows my creativity to flourish, and that gets poured into my client projects. Being this way also means:
- My skills are kept sharp: actually living in so many different houses gives me a whole new lens on what works, what doesn’t work, and what could work, and I bring these unique perspectives to Tangerine Designs
- Inspiration is constant: having such close proximity with the way other people style their homes in different parts of the country means my ideas arsenal is constantly growing
- Your investment goes further: I don’t have the overheads of a showroom or employees, so the investment you make is in me as your expert partner-in-design
Tangerine Designs works all over the US and I travel regularly to do in-person consultations, meet with clients and contractors, give progress updates, and see the complete transformations that make day-to-day living delightful.
WHAT TO EXPECT WORKING WITH TIFFANY
Unfortunately breakfast isn’t included 😉
“All Tiffany’s design proposals were imaginative, and made it clear she had listened to our ideas and understood our needs.”
The foundation for a successful transformation is to listen to what’s not working with your current space, what you truly, madly, deeply wish it would become, and observe the dynamics of how you actually live everyday life.
Function-first, then you-infused
“She thinks of the practicality of the design and understood that the space is very much lived in”
Armed with a deep understanding of your challenges and desires, I develop thoughtful, practical, and beautiful designs that support the way you naturally go about your days and have your personality expressed through all of them.
Innovation beyond imagination
“Tiffany imagined the space better than we could have even come close to designing ourselves”
My decades of experience means I’m able to envision spaces in entirely new ways. My superpower is to download your dream home from your brain, make it even dreamier, and then bring it to life for you.
A highly skilled + hands-on partner-in-design
“Tiffany's design instincts are spot-on, and she takes much of the stress out of making decisions”
I don’t design to my style, I design to yours — even if you’re not sure what that is yet! The delight is in the details, and I’ll guide you through every single one. I’ll let you know what won’t work, what could work, and help you make confident choices.
Client-centered + collaborative
“Tiffany is an excellent communicator, she kept us informed of all of our timelines”
You’ll be informed and consulted through the whole process and never have to wonder what’s happening or when. If I’m doing my job really well, I’ll answer your questions before you even ask them. We’re a team, and you’re always at the center of it.
Seamless service with the personal touch
“Despite the large scope of our project, Tiffany and her contractor coordinated well so that everything was seamless and easy”
Renovating is a significant undertaking, and you’re busy. Not to mention overwhelmed with options. What feels stressful for you is second nature to me. This is white glove service. And while I don’t actually own any white gloves, you just have to take my hand and I’ll take care of the rest.
We hired Tiffany Williams of Tangerine Designs to remodel the galley style kitchen of our mid century ranch. Our goals were to open the space, increase storage, and bring in natural light. Tiffany knocked all three out of the park!
Tiffany worked up four design proposals. All of them were imaginative, and made it clear she had listened to our ideas and understood our needs. Tiffany skillfully guided us through the material and finish selections. She was attentive throughout the renovation and promptly addressed issues as they arose (there were so few, clearly not her first rodeo).
The end result is the stunning transformation of our home!
We enthusiastically recommend Tangerine Designs, working with Tiffany was amazing!
